Gantt Charts

What is a Gantt Chart?
A gantt chart is a type of bar chart that helps to plan and organise a schedule for a project. It shows us how long it would take to complete a task, when we should complete it and when we can start it.

Why should we use it?
We should use a Gantt chart because it helps us to effectively plan how to complete a project. We can assign specific colour coded 'bars' to people so they can easily find out what they need to do. This would eliminate confusion. By properly arranging a Gantt chart we can figure out which tasks can be done simultaneously and which can only be done when another task is done. This will make sure we complete our project within the shortest time.

Tips for Using a Gantt Chart
- colour code the bars for each person in the group
- make sure each bar is labelled
- link the tasks together
